Alison Lake is managing editor for the Maryland Public Policy Institute. She also writes regularly for magazines and newspapers. Her work has appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Washington Woman, The World & I of The Washington Times, and others. Her history book, California's Spanish Missions (Windstorm Creative, 418 pp) is available at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Alison is also a managing editor of Windstorm's non-fiction series and a freelance editor/writer. Her second book, Living Off-Balance, comes out later in 2005 from LBF Books.
Alison received her B.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She received her credential to teach elementary school in California and has taught grades 4-8. Her writing and research interests include education policy, non-profit work, history, and parenting.
